Westminster College and the United Reformed Church

Westminster College is a theological college and one of three Resource Centre for Learning (RCL’s) serving the United Reformed Church (URC)—a diverse and inclusive Christian denomination with around 1,500 congregations across England, Scotland, and Wales.

A Hub for Learning, Formation, and Service

Westminster has a long tradition of ministerial formation, and that work continues today. But our vision has expanded. In partnership with the URC’s two other RCLs—Northern College (Manchester) and Scottish College (Glasgow)—we now offer a wide range of learning opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and callings.

From lay discipleship courses to continuing ministerial development, we are committed to equipping the whole people of God for faithful life and ministry in today’s world.

Broadening Our Reach

Over the past decade, Westminster’s staff and governors have worked intentionally to widen access to theological education throughout the year. While initial ministerial training remains a vital part of our mission, it now represents only one strand of our wider contribution to the Church.

Supported by the URC

Our work is made possible through the generous support of the United Reformed Church, particularly through the General Assembly’s Education and Learning Committee. We are also deeply grateful for the continued support from individuals and communities within the URC and beyond.
