Postgraduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry, and Mission

The Postgraduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry, and Mission offers a flexible pathway that allows you to delve deeper into specialized areas of interest and relevance to your ministry, building on the foundational topics covered in the Postgraduate Certificate.


Programme Structure

  • One year full-time (typically two modules per term)
  • Two to three years part-time (typically one module per term, or less)

Modules and Credit Distribution

Students select a total of 120 credits

  • Minimum of 100 credits at Level 7
  • Maximum of 20 credits at Level 6

Please note: students can include in the above, a maximum of 20 credits Biblical Language Modules at Levels 4 and 5.

Compulsory Module

  • Research and Reflection: This is a mandatory module that all students must undertake as part of their curriculum.

Module Teaching

Modules are taught by the experienced teaching staff at Westminster and our colleagues within the wider Cambridge Theological Federation, fostering an ecumenical and collaborative educational environment. Class sizes range from 5 to 25, creating a diverse and enriching learning experience characterized by a broad range of ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Teaching methods blend lecture-style content with seminar-style discussions and small group work. Independent study sessions often involve multimedia resources, enhancing the learning experience through reflection.


Progression

The modular structure of the Common Awards allows for significant academic progression. After completing the Postgraduate Diploma, you have the option to apply for admission to the MA in Theology, Ministry, and Mission, building on the credits you have already achieved.


Cost and Financial Aid

The cost of the Postgraduate Diploma is £6,000. Bursaries are available to assist students financially, making the program accessible to a wider audience.
