Masters in Theology, Ministry, and Mission

The MA in Theology, Ministry, and Mission offers a contextualized and practical approach to the exploration of theology and ministry across diverse settings, blending academic rigor with practical application.


Programme Structure

  • One year full-time (over 12 months)
  • Two, three or four years part time (typically one module per term over two years and the dissertation in a third year)

Modules and Credit Distribution

Students select a total of 180 credits

  • Minimum of 150 credits at Level 7
  • Maximum of 30 credits at Level 6

Please note: students can include in the above, a maximum of 30 credits Biblical Language Modules at Levels 4 and 5.

Compulsory Modules

All students are required to study the following modules:

  • TMM42220 – Research and Reflection: Resources and Methods (20 credits): A foundational module that equips students with the necessary skills for theological research.
  • TMM42360 – Dissertation in Theology, Ministry, and Mission (60 credits): A substantial research project that forms the capstone of the degree.

Module Teaching

Teaching is provided by the experienced faculty at Westminster and colleagues from the wider Cambridge Theological Federation, promoting an ecumenical learning environment. Class sizes range from 5 to 25, allowing for personalized attention and a dynamic classroom experience. Teaching methods combine lecture-style presentations with seminar discussions and small group work. Independent study sessions often involve multimedia resources, facilitating deeper academic and practical insights.


Progression

Completing the MA can lead directly to opportunities for doctoral research, offering a pathway to further academic exploration and professional development in theological fields.


Cost and Financial Aid

The cost of the MA is £7,000. Bursaries are available to assist students financially, making advanced theological education accessible to a broader audience.
