Lay Preachers Weekend
Preaching & Worshiping with Wisdom for Lectionary Year A
When
Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th September 2025
Theme: Preaching & Worshipping with Wisdom
This year’s programme is shaped around the theme of Preaching & Worshipping with Wisdom, with a central emphasis on combatting Christian anti-Judaism in preaching and worship.
This theme invites Lay Preachers to reflect deeply on how we handle Scripture, ensuring our preaching and worship practices are wise, respectful, and avoid harmful mindsets such as:
-
Anti-Judaism
-
Supersessionism
-
Triumphalism

To meet this need, we are coordinating sessions around Lectionary Year A, providing thoughtful tools and approaches for preaching.
