Diana Paulding (she/her) is a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter. Her research looks at the role of cultural trauma in the book of Job and how this can inform Christians and the church today, particularly within the context of climate crisis. This research is kindly sponsored by the Council for World Mission and the Northern College Research Scholarship. Diana previously earned her BA and MPhil degrees from the University of Cambridge before moving to Norfolk and undertaking her PhD studies via distance learning. Recent publications include ‘Post Trauma Narrative: A Path to Liberation in the Bible and Beyond’ in Stirring Up Liberation Theology, ed. Jione Havea (SCM Press, 2024).

Diana is a member of the United Reformed Church and on the leadership team and the Eco Team for yourchurch, the URC’s first digital local church. She also currently serves on the URC’s Faith and Order committee. She is passionate about peace-building in the Holy Land, having first visited the region as a representative of URC Youth in 2019, and is currently a trustee of Sabeel-Kairos UK.
