Westminster College is located at the junction of Madingley Road, Queen’s Road, and Northampton Street—just a short walk north-west of Cambridge city centre. We’re perfectly placed for exploring the historic sights, colleges, and green spaces of the city.


🚗 By Car

Please note: On-site parking is limited and charged at £20 per day, payable at Reception. A permit will be issued upon arrival.

Driving Directions

  • From the South (M11 Northbound)
    Exit at Junction 13. Turn right at the T-junction onto Madingley Road (A1303).
    Continue to the mini-roundabout—Westminster College is through the gates on the left.

  • From the North (A14 Southbound)
    Take the A1307 (Cambridge) exit. Follow Huntingdon Road into the city.
    At the major junction, turn right at the lights (signed ‘Ring Road’ / ‘Addenbrooke’s Hospital’).
    Follow the one-way system: bear left, then right, down Lady Margaret Road.
    At the T-junction, turn left onto Madingley Road.
    At the mini-roundabout, the College is on your left.

  • From the West (A428 Eastbound)
    Take the A1303 to Cambridge. Continue on Madingley Road to the mini-roundabout.
    The College is on your left through the gates.

  • From the East (A14 Westbound)
    Exit at B1049 Cambridge (Histon Road). Continue 1 mile, then follow signs for the Ring Road and Railway Station.
    Follow the one-way system down Lady Margaret Road to the T-junction.
    Turn left onto Madingley Road. The College is on your left at the mini-roundabout.

If on-site parking is unavailable, there are several nearby options:

  • Pound Hill (1-minute walk)
    Short stay – max 2 hours.

  • Mount Pleasant & St Peter’s Street (under 5 minutes’ walk)
    Long stay – pay-and-display or use the RingGo app
    💰 80p per 30 minutes (Mon–Sat, 9:00–17:00)

  • Castle Hill Car Park (8-minute walk)
    A larger public car park on Castle Street.

🚍 Park & Ride Recommended

Cambridge can be congested, especially at peak times.
We highly recommend using the Madingley Road Park & Ride for a smoother journey.


🚌 By Bus

The College is a 15-minute walk from the city’s main bus stops:

  • Emmanuel Street

  • St Andrew’s Street

  • Drummer Street Bus Station


🚆 By Train

  • Cambridge Station
    ~2 miles from the College
    🚶 40-minute walk | 🚖 12-minute drive

  • Cambridge North Station
    ~2.5 miles away
    🚶 50-minute walk | 🚖 15-minute drive

Taxis are readily available at both stations. Buses also connect the train stations to the city centre, just a short walk from the College.
