Archives at Westminster

There are five main collections kept here at the College: the records of Westminster College; the records of Cheshunt College (including the Countess of Huntingdon’s correspondence); the Presbyterian Church of England archive; the Churches of Christ archive; and the collections of the United Reformed Church History Society. Please visit Our Collections below for further information.

We welcome visitors to the archives. If you would like to make an appointment to use the collections, please see our visiting and contacting us page for further details. There’s information and advice on depositing records on the depositing your records page, too, but if you have any questions, please get in touch. You can contact the Archivist on hw374@cam.ac.uk.

URC History Society

The United Reformed Church History Society is open to anyone interested in the history of the denominations which came together in 1972, 1981 and in 2000. In 1972 the Presbyterian Church of England and the Congregational Church in England and Wales joined to form the United Reformed Church. In 1981 the Re-formed Association of Churches of Christ in Great Britain also joined, followed in 2000 by the Congregational Union of Scotland.

The Society Journal is published twice a year, and members also have the opportunity to meet each other at study days or at residential weekends.
