Eldership on the Front Line - 19th-21st March 2018

As society is constantly changing there seem to be a whole variety of demands on people’s lives and time. The church seeks to be involved in the life of its community and to be a community of people who are welcoming and where people can safely seek answers to life’s big questions. Often it is the Eldership of a local church that finds itself on the frontline trying to keep the church active, offer pastoral care of members, quality worship and trying to ensure the mission of the church is relevant to the 21st century.

Sounds familiar? Then the 2018 equipping Elders conference may be for you. With a variety of speakers we will together tease out the role of Eldership for today’s church, share stories and Biblical insights and help to resource you for your important ministries. Alongside of the programme you will have time to enjoy each other’s company, good food, the facilities and resources of Westminster College and the beauty of Cambridge. We look forward to welcoming you

To ensure that everyone who wants to attend gets the opportunity, we’re repeating this course on three dates;

Draw Breath and reflect upon: Aspects of the cross - 24th March 2018

In the busyness of life we all need the opportunity to step back and spend time in the company of God reflecting upon life, our faith and what God is calling us to. Each of these days will have a different emphasis allowing a variety of approaches that make the most of Westminster’s stunning buildings and facilities.

For our March date we will be focusing on Aspects of the cross. If you think you would like to take longer than a day with us why not consider our “In the Company of” (see the top of this page) initiative that allows for some guided reflection.

We also have two other dates planned for 2018 which will follow a similar format but will explore other themes;
Saturday 11th August 2018: Theme to be confirmed
Saturday 3rd November 2018: Theme to be confirmed

The vision of our redevelopment means maximising the flexibility of our spaces and staff to cater to the many and evolving needs of individuals, congregations, committees and wider URC gatherings. Already Westminster is deeply involved in ecumenical and inter-faith partnerships, and welcomes enquiries from individuals and groups from other traditions.

We offer a growing and diverse range of programmes for the Church. Most of these are open to lay and ordained participants, and some focus upon specific groups and ministries such as URC worship leaders and preachers. Creativity and feeding a spiritual imagination are fundamental to our life and work. We offer you opportunity for retreat and spiritual guidance along with the creative possibilities of our worship, chapel, prayer labyrinth and art studio. Cambridge provides a host of opportunities, and many add time to enjoy these to participation in an event with us. To find out more please get in touch. We are always happy to add you to our contact lists.

Please note we have very limited car parking. We strongly recommend using the Madingley Road Park and Ride, metered parking on Pound Hill or pay and display car park on Castle Hill. You can read more detail on our special Planning your journey information sheet.

We have detailed accessibility statements available on our Building Accessibility page.
